Cooloola Cup
This regatta was the first event organised by Tin Can Bay Yacht Club after the club was formed in 1981. Originally, the regatta was run over four days between Christmas and New Year and attracted some of the biggest names in Australian Sailing. In the mid-80's the regatta regularly saw entry numbers exceeding 50 boats, with the record being 67.
The regatta remains the club's signature event.
The regatta is run over two days, and features round-the-buoys racing and if the weather permits, a race to Inskip Point and return may feature in the program. The regatta is open to off-the-beach monohulls and multihulls, trailer-sailers, sportsboats, trailerable multihulls and keelboats.
Cockroach Cup
This event is incorporated into the Cooloola Cup. The event is open to all boats competing in the Cooloola Cup. The trophy features stylised stainless steel sails ... with a cockroach crawling along the leech!
